Gay-MART Enterprises Incorporated is a high tech mail order company that specializes in information and merchandise of interest to Gays, Lesbians and members of allied communities throughout the world.

The Gay-MART Mission

Gay-Mart’ s mission is to provide goods and services which encourage the growth of Gay and Lesbian culture worldwide:

To remind us of where we have been: what we have contributed to the world at large, what we have accomplished for ourselves and what we have suffered.
To remind us of where we are: our current struggles and triumphs in achieving basic human rights, our expanding contributions to world culture, on-going hostility and violence from religious and political extremists, the toll exacted by a terrible disease.
To remind us of where we are going: what remains to be accomplished , what obstacles are being created and new ways to tap our creative spirit.
To remind us to have fun: to affirm not just our will to survive but also our will to triumph over adversities and to derive enjoyment from our lives.

High Level of Service / Fair Profit

Gay-Mart is operated to sustain a high level of service and to make a fair profit for providing that service. We provide employment within our community and make a special effort to provide opportunities for those who have encountered discrimination. We return a percentage of our profits to community-based groups. We provide a venue for Gay and Lesbian investors to put their money into a Gay and Lesbian owned and run business. We re-invest a portion of our profits in improving both our for-profit services and our free on-line resources.

Price reflect real costs

Our prices reflect our real costs: the cost of fairly compensating to our employees, the costs for outreach programs for those who have suffered employment discrimination and the cost of being responsible corporate citizens. Our prices reflect a fair profit which is used for to provide a return on investment to our investors comparable to that available in the general economy and to expand and improve our services.

We will not sell a product just to make money nor will we charge whatever the market will bear. Our choice of products reflects our mission and the prices we set reflect our commitment to good value for our customers and fair compensation for all Gay-Mart participants.

Keeping prices down

We strive to keep our prices down through volume buying and efficient operations. For reasons of both cost and ecology, we avoid the use of paper and choose to communicate our product and service offerings electronically.
